The
heart of the RND rifle is the unsurpassed quality control that RND puts into
its upper and lower receivers then passes these same controls on to the other
parts that are machined with exacting precision using state-of-the-art CNC machinery.
Every choice in design, materials, and production is directed toward our single
goal of uncompromising accuracy. We feel this approach gives us the The EDGE
in consistent performance. |

While
RND purchases state-of-the-art barrel blanks from top barrel manufactures, as
well as trigger groups to suit a customer's particular needs, every other part
for the EDGE rifle was designed by our engineers and was built in our own facility
in Longmont, Colorado. Each part is meticulously machined and hand fitted to

Ultimate
accuracy begins with our receivers. The EDGE has a unique hexagonal shaped upper
receiver that provides substantially greater mass in critical areas, significantly
increasing receiver strength, without adding excess weight. This additional
strength eliminates the flex that can occur when attaching heavy competition
barrels to standard profile AR-type receivers that were originally engineered
for ultra light-weight barrels. This shape also provides for a larger, and more
secure, mating surface between the upper and lower receiver. |

Both
the upper and lower receivers are CNC machined to exacting tolerances from a
single billet of aircraft aluminum. The upper and lower are finished together
as a perfect matching set and then numbered identically. |

To
assure exact mating between the upper and lower receivers, all RND EDGE rifles
come equipped with our unique hex head rear lock-up feature. RND engineers have
greatly strengthened the rear upper receiver boss (lug) and replaced the standard
AR style rear push-type retention pin with a hex head cap screw. The hardened
hex head cap screw in the lower receiver engages the upper receiver boss at
a 45° angle. This provides a downward, as well |

as a rearward, tension between the upper and lower receivers assuring a perfect
fit with zero tolerance every time, regardless of receiver wear. |

The
RND gas system is designed to eliminate both harmonics and gas leakage. The
gas tube has a .250” diameter, which makes it very rigid reducing harmonics.
The gas tube is then threaded into the gas block which eliminates all chances
of gas leakage. |

RND’s
exclusive bolt design features rounded, heavy duty locking lugs that are capable
of withstanding the increased pressures created by large caliber rounds like
the .338 Lapua Magnum. |

Another
design innovation is the RND buffer system. By redesigning the traditional AR
style buffer system, re-incorporating it in the upper receiver, we were able
to eliminate the buffer tube from the rear of the receiver. This allows us to
offer some of the most adjustable, shooter friendly, stocks on the market today.
These stocks provide more comfort for the shooter, better accuracy and less
recoil. |
